Klimkin commented on the victory of “Naftogaz” in the Stockholm arbitration

KIEV. 22 Dec. UNN. The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin commented on the victory of the NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” on the case with PJSC “Gazprom” in the Stockholm arbitration, noting that it is a distinct advantage, though not a knockout. He wrote about this in his microblog on Twitter, reports UNN.

“The victory of Naftogaz in the Stockholm arbitration: not a knockout, but a clear advantage and the three knock-down,” – said the Minister.

We will remind, on December 22 the Court of Arbitration Institute of Stockholm chamber of Commerce fully dismissed the claims of OJSC “Gazprom” relative to the position of “take or pay” in the amount of $ 56 billion. over the 2009-2017 years.

“Naftogaz of Ukraine” has achieved reduction of future required annual volume of gas purchases from Gazprom more than 10 times in accordance with the actual requirements to import gas. The price of gas from “Naftogaz” in the second quarter of 2014, reduced by 27% – from $ 485./thousand cubic metres to $ 352./thousand cubic meters.

Naftogaz estimates the total positive effect of arbitral awards in more than 75 billion dollars. for the entire term of the contract for the supply of gas.
