Document number 001 for humanitarian aid for the country

The interim President of Venezuela Juan Guido on February 21 signed a decree authorizing the entry of humanitarian aid into the country. The text of the document, number 001, he posted on Twitter.
“As commander in chief of the Bolivarian armed forces, I reaffirm the resolution on the entry of humanitarian aid to Venezuela and ordered individual units of the armed forces to act under this resolution”, − stated in the decree.

The same decree, Guido cancelled the order of Nicolas Maduro on the closure of land borders with Brazil and upheld and unchanged relationship with Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao that Maduro intends to review.
Also, Guido confirmed guarantees for those soldiers who will move to the side of his government.

- Mass protests began in Venezuela on the night of January 23. The initiator of the protests was the Brazilian leader of the opposition, Juan Guido who appointed himself acting President.
- The US President Donald trump was the first to recognize the legitimacy of Guido.
- Acting President Maduro Nicolas in response severed diplomatic relations with the United States.
- The European Parliament approved a resolution calling to recognize Guido.
- Russia called Maduro’s legitimate President, and said the attempt of “usurpation of power” by the opposition.
- 19 Feb Nicolas Maduro said that the country is expected to arrive 300 tons of humanitarian aid from Russia. According to Maduro, humanitarian supplies, including food and medicine, will arrive in the country on February 20.
- On 20 February the Minister of defense of Venezuela Vladimir Padrino said that the country’s army put on alert in connection with the previously announced deliveries of humanitarian aid from the United States.
- Due to the ongoing dispute regarding the proceeds of foreign humanitarian aid in the country, 21 Feb Nicolas Maduro announced the closure of the border of Venezuela with Brazil.
