Japan new year simplifies visa regime for Ukrainians

The government of Japan intends to continue supporting Ukraine in implementing reforms

The Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe emphasized the dedication of his country to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and confirmed the decision of Japan to introduce from 1 January 2018 simplified visa regime for Ukrainians.

This is stated in the letter from the head of the Japanese government the head of state with gratitude for the congratulations on victory in the parliamentary elections of 22 October 2017, reports Interfax-Ukraine with reference to press-service of the President of Ukraine.

“Japan is a friend of Ukraine and a partner who shares fundamental values… the Government of Japan intends to continue to support Ukraine in carrying out reforms,” – said in the letter.

Abe reiterated the willingness to work closely with Poroshenko in the development of Ukrainian-Japanese relations in order to consolidate efforts to respond to global and regional challenges.

He also noted the successful implementation of the initiatives by the leaders of Japan and Ukraine on holding “Year of Japan in Ukraine” on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
