An Iranian tanker with oil for Belarus arrived in the port of Odessa, BelTA learnt from Deputy Director General of CJSC “Belarusian oil company” Sergey Mushroom.

“A tanker of Iranian oil by volume of 80 thousand tons arrived in the port of Odessa and have already been discharged”, he informed.

The first batch of oil will go to Mozyr oil refinery during the current week.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Belarus will import oil from Iran through the territory of Ukraine on the background of protracted disagreements with Russia regarding the debt of Belarus for gas. According to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the oil will be shipped in tankers to Odessa, and from there be transported by railway transport in the direction of Mozyr oil refinery (Belarus).

The Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine in mid-February approved the W/d rate of 11.88 USD. per ton for the carriage of oil in transit from the station “Odessa-Peresyp” station “Berezhest'”, which is near the border with Belarus.
