KIEV. June 5. UNN. Authorities in Washington state said Monday that they have filed lawsuits against Facebook and Google for allegedly breaking the law on campaign Finance because of failure to provide information on who buys political ads. About it UNN reported with reference to Reuters.

The attorney General Bob Ferguson said his office received in April from the citizens complaint, which alleged that Facebook and Google have not provided the legally required information about political ads.

According to Ferguson, he now seeks recovery of fines from companies that they did not disclose data on the cost of advertising in state elections in 2013.

Facebook said it hopes to quickly resolve the issue with the lawsuit. The Google representative did not immediately able to comment. Like Facebook, Google promised to create an online archive of ads.

Recall that Facebook in the US will require documents from the buyers of political advertising.
