“UFSB of Russia across the Ulyanovsk region stopped the illegal activities of a local religious organisation “Jehovah’s Witnesses” of the city of Ulyanovsk, a member of the religious organization “Administrative center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia”, — quotes RIA Novosti message.

According to the Agency, the supervisor and several activists held covert meetings and individual study of extremist materials, and also engaged in the recruitment of the population.

It is clarified that in respect of the detainees filed two criminal cases under article 282.2, part 1 and part 2 of article 282.2 of the Russian criminal code (“Organization and participation in an extremist organization”), the question on election of a preventive measure, the report says.

Earlier it was reported that employees of the Department of MIA of Russia for Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra was detained in the city of Uray participants of the cell, “Jehovah’s Witnesses”.
