“It is an irreparable loss for the scientific community of Russia and for the whole of the State Council and of the Committee. For some time it was not at the meetings. He was incredibly sympathetic person, with whom it was always very interesting to talk to. He never remained aloof from human problems. It could come and professors, and ordinary citizens — all and he was always happy,” said Chernyshov.

Nobel laureate Zhores Alferov died on March 2 on 89-m to year of life in St. Petersburg.

This information was confirmed by his wife Tamara Darskaya.
