Federation of hockey of Russia (FHR) appreciated the decision of the International ice hockey Federation (IIHF) to cancel the women’s world hockey championship in 2020 due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus.

“The Federation of hockey of Russia regrets the cancellation of the tournament, but understands the need for such a decision of the IIHF, since safety and health are the Supreme value. The national Russian women’s national team continues preparing for international competitions, most of which will be the 2022 Olympics,” reads a statement on the official website of the FHR.
Women’s world hockey championship was to be held from 31 March to 10 April in the canadian Halifax and Truro.
