KIEV. 14 Nov. UNN. In the river four police officers accused of torture of people, reports UNN citing the press service of the State Bureau of investigation.

“The court directed the indictment against four police of the Industrial Dnieper police Department of police Department of the Main Directorate of the National police in the Dnipropetrovsk region. They are accused of torturing people”, – stated in the message.

Pre-trial investigation found that law enforcement officers detained the man on suspicion of theft. He refused to admit his guilt, therefore, the defendants began to “beat out” a confession in the premises of the police station. According to the conclusions of the examination, the victim received injuries of moderate severity.

Law enforcement officers, qualified under part 2 of article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (torture is the intentional infliction of severe physical pain or physical or moral suffering through beatings, committed on preliminary arrangement by group of persons) and part 3 St. 365 Criminal code of Ukraine (excess of authority or official powers, that is, the intentional Commission by the employee of law enforcement body actions which are obviously going beyond the rights provided to it or powers, entailed heavy consequences).

In the case of evidence of guilt, the police can be punished with imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.
