In the port of Odessa arrived two ships of the standing naval group of NATO, informs official page on Facebook command of the naval forces of Ukraine.

“In the port of Odessa today, on July 24, with visit to profit the ships of the standing naval group of NATO N 2 (SNMG2) is a destroyer of the Royal Navy of great Britain DUNCAN and frigates of the Turkish Navy YILDIRІM”, – stated in the message the press center of the Navy.

According to the program of stay of the ships will be a formal meeting of their command with the command of the Ukrainian Navy. Residents will be able to visit the ships, and the military of NATO will meet with Ukrainian seafarers. Crews also will visit cultural events. The visit will last until July 27.

The commander of the Navy APU Igor Voronchenko met with the commander of the expedition by Commodore James Morley and commanders of the arriving ships, the sides stressed the importance of developing cooperation between the Ukrainian Navy and NATO fleets in the partner countries from the point of view of strengthening security at sea and in the region.

It is planned that by the end of the visit the NATO ships will conduct in the Black sea together with the Navy APU training.

Last week in the Odessa and Nikolaev areas was completed naval exercises “Sea Breeze – 2017”, in which participated 17 countries, including the UK and Turkey. In the Crimea, in turn, passed the inspection of the black sea fleet, reminds RIA “Novosti”.
On 26 January the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a law allowing units of the armed forces of other States on the territory of Ukraine in 2017 to participate in a multinational exercise, it was reported on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
