As reported the UNIAN in a press-service of the Plenipotentiary of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on human rights, a monitoring inspection in August was carried out by employees of the Department for realization of the national preventive mechanism and the representative of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada on human rights in the southern regions of the country.

“During the visit, there were established facts that can be assessed as ill-treatment of patients,” – said in the message.
In particular, in office No. 21 men complained that one of the shift nurses does not allow you to go to the toilet at night. While on treatment, one patient received a fracture of the leg and may actually bedridden. This man claims that his carelessness gets in the face and intimidate a nurse. While he was not given the proper care, with the result that he developed bedsores on his body. As specified, assigned trauma operative treatment is still not performed.
The monitoring group said that after a fire in the institution which killed the patients and the nurse, measures are taken to ensure safety. However, the Windows remain grid, even in those wards that are closed courtyards with high fences.
“Also unpleasantly surprised by the regime of restrictions and even those patients undergoing treatment by his own consent. They can’t go beyond the outlets, spend the day in fenced areas, on benches and rubber tires,” – said in the message.
