Russian traders continue to make the most of export supplies of contraband of coal through offshore companies
In September 2017 from Russia were exported to Europe about 208 thousand tons of coal, illegally exported from the occupied districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which is 18% or about 33 thousand tons more than in August of this year (about 175 thousand tons). This is evidenced by the Railways and the Federal customs service, which has LIGA.net.
In September 77,8% of all smuggling, or 161.4 m thousand tons, had four Russian companies: “Gas Alliance”, “petroleum capital” (both controlled by Sergey Kurchenko), TD “Anthracite” and “Russian anthracite”.
As reported by one of the Russian coal traders in August and September exports of coal, including exported from the Donbass, from ports in the South of Russia was difficult because of the restrictions, introduced by the Russian Railways.
“The priority now given to railway trains with materials for the construction of the Kerch bridge, he says. – Therefore, in Rostov, there was a significant accumulation of wagons with coal, and there have been delays in shipment for export.”
Since July a number of major companies engaged in export of coal from occupied areas of the Donbas have ceased to make such supplies in the Russian customs authorities. In this regard, to track the flow of coal to the Ukrainian authorities uncontrolled border with Russia difficult.
For example, “Gas Alliance” and ZAO”Vneshtorgservis” (which controls the mine of DTEK in ORDO) are not as importers of anthracite coal from the occupied territories of Ukraine, as it was previously. However, according to the export invoices of the Federal customs service, “the Company GAZ-the Alliance”in September put abroad through JSC “Russian Railways logistics” has more than 82 thousand tons of coal-anthracite, “of unknown origin”.
Russian traders continue to make the most of export supplies of contraband of coal through offshore companies without specifying the country of destination.
Among these companies – Coal trade antrahcit LLP, Gregol Limited (United Kingdom, both controlled by the brothers Alexander and Sergey Melnichuk), Carbon & natural resources corp Limited, Altercom Limited, Yorkland Merchants limited (Hong Kong), Bornholm Inter LP.
