Customs clearance of goods was suspended, as they suspected a violation of intellectual property rights.
On the kitchen knives were applied famous brand Tramontina / photo UNIAN Odessa customs officials blocked the introduction into circulation of 12 thousand counterfeit knives imported from China.
As reported the UNIAN in a press-service of the Odessa customs of the SFS, the implementation of customs inspection of goods received from China in the Odessa sea port, the customs officers drew attention to the inconsistency in the labeling and information stated in the customs Declaration. As noted, did not correspond and attached to the shipping documents.
In particular, to the packaging and directly on kitchen knives was applied famous brand Tramontina.
“The goods of this world famous Brazilian Corporation are of high quality, which guarantees the official manufacturer. But the documents did not contain any mention of the fact that the producer claimed for clearance of goods is the famous company Tramontina S. A. Cutelaria,” – said at the customs office.

As explained in the press service, during the relevant events was invited by the official representative of the owner of the brand Tramontina in Ukraine, which confirmed the discovered product is adulterated.

“The right holder and the owner of the goods took advantage of the opportunity afforded by article 402 of the Customs code of Ukraine, and agreed to restore the violated rights by mechanical removal of the designation Tramontina on the packaging and product”, – told the Agency.
In other words, as explained by the representative of the Odessa customs, entrepreneur for several days in the presence of a representative of the company Tramontina has removed the markings. After this procedure, the right holder is allowed to enter into circulation 12 thousand “updated” knife without the presence of an applied trademark.
The customs representative said UNIAN that the surgery to remove the label held last week.
“For the examination, approvals and other procedures require a lot of time”, – explained in customs.
