In Odessa police officer was stabbed in the chest

KIEV. 28 Feb. UNN. The man struck the officer with a knife in the chest in Odessa. It is reported by UNN with reference to the Department of communication GUNP in Odessa region.

“About midnight, returning home, the employee of management of preventive activities GUNP saw a group of young people who loudly questioned the relationship, screaming at each other and insulted by swearing the girl with his same company”, – stated in the message.

Law enforcement decided to intervene and stop the illegal actions. Posing as a COP, he made the violators of public order remark.

“The answer was a dismissive phrase, after which an aggressive young grabbed a knife and stabbed the militiaman in the chest. Then the whole company began to run. The policeman was admitted to hospital with a penetrating wound of the chest”, – said in GUNP.

Workers Portofrankovsky police Department and the Department of homeland security established the participants of the event. In addition, during the urgent search in the apartment of the suspect were withdrawn in advance of the crime weapon – a knife.

On this fact initiated criminal proceedings under art. 348 criminal code of Ukraine – encroachment on life of law enforcement officer, the member of public formation on protection of a public order and state border or a serviceman. The sanction of article prescribes punishment is deprivation of liberty for a term from nine up to fifteen years or life imprisonment. The malefactor is detained in order St. 208 criminal procedure code of Ukraine. The investigation is continuing.

Recall, a police officer from Bukovina, which before was involved in an accident, died in hospital.
