In the center of Odessa, on the Potemkin stairs, today more than 1.2 thousand people in embroidered shirts have created a “human chain” on the occasion of independence Day of Ukraine.
As UNIAN correspondent, registration of participants began at 13.00, but to build a “chain” and check everyone took a few hours.
The crowd, despite the heat, patiently receive credential badges with individual rooms lined up on the stairs.

Duke was the first in the “chain”. His huge embroidery created in accordance with the peculiarities of Ukrainian national clothes of the Odessa region. In particular, the neck decorated in the form of a stand-up collar, the pattern is made in blue and brown tones.
As organizers noted, the number of “chains” amounted to 1,248. It Odessans and guests of all ages – the youngest six months, the oldest was 75 years. All participants were embroidered, including children.

At the foot of the stairs, people unfurled a large national Flag of Ukraine. In addition, the participants sang the Anthem of Ukraine together with the leader of the band “Antibody” Taras Poplar, which also has become “chain” “chain”.
According to the organizers, people could be much more, but many Odessans went to Kiev to participate in capital events.

Today for the first time in the framework of building vyshyvankas “chain” were given gifts. According to the organizers, a participant under number 693 will receive tickets to today’s concert “Antibodies”, 13 participants won t-shirts, gifts from one of the mobile operators and Souvenirs from Vyshivankovy festival, which organized a “human chain”.
