In Kiev Svyatoshinsky district at the intersection of Prospekt Lesya Kurbasa and street of the Academician the Queen on Tuesday, August 15, was a monument to the participants of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) combat hostilities in Eastern Ukraine against Pro-Russian armed groups operating under the flags of DNR and LNR, reports UNIAN.
The monument is a sword, plunging into the plate with the image maps of Russia, which symbolizes victory over the enemies of Ukraine. On the pedestal is the figure of an angel with a sword and the Ukrainian coat of arms on the shield, its wings painted in the colors of the flag of Ukraine.
First, users of Twitter, and then the editors of the radio station “Moscow speaking” drew attention to the similarity of this angel with the Archangel Tyrael, a character in the game series Diablo III work the London artist Toby Levin. Moreover, the author of the monument was used not only by the shape of the character, but the background of the poster of Diablo III.
In the description of the character reads: “Archangel decides its impartial Tribunal by El’nar of the mountains, the Sword of Justice. By all accounts, El’nar Drouin is a special weapon that can cut through any substance or foe”.

The name of the Ukrainian author of the monument is unknown. The idea of a 2.5-meter tall monument on “the image of the guardian angel of the Ukrainian soldiers”, the site quoted 44.ua the press service of the Kyiv city Council. “The upper part of the sword (weapons of the guardian angel), which symbolizes the future victory of the Ukrainian soldiers over the enemies, and the lower part has a base which depicts the angel with wings painted in yellow-blue color”, – stated in the message.

Advisor to the mayor of Kiev and the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Belotserkovsky wrote on his page in Facebookthat the installation of the monument became possible thanks to volunteers and activists of the following organizations: “Ukrainian centre of adaptation of ATO veterans”, “the Office for the protection of ecology and health”, “international charitable Foundation “Future”, “all-Ukrainian society of veterans of the ATO.”
The installation of the monument were collected 120 thousand hryvnias. Funds six months together were collected by the volunteers and soldiers of the volunteers who defended Ukraine in the East.
