The security service of Ukraine (SBU) announced on its website about the arrest in Kyiv a Ukrainian citizen who worked for the GRU and suspected of involvement in the destruction of a passenger plane in the skies over the Donbas in 2014.

According to the Ukrainian intelligence services, the man, appearing under the initials “K.” in the period from 2014 to 2020 oversaw the Russian military intelligence (GRU) of the leaders of the so-called Donetsk national Republic (DND).

The detainee is suspected that as a freelance representative of special services of the Russian Federation, participated in the creation of the so-called “intelligence the NPT.” Its leaders and representatives, as stated in the message of the SBU, had to do with the destruction of a passenger aircraft Boeing-777 flight MH17 “Malaysian airlines”.

UNIAN reports that the detained citizen of Ukraine is accused of creation of terrorist group (part 1 of article 258-3 of the Criminal code of Ukraine). In the near future he will be handed a notice of suspicion.

At the disposal of the SBU has records of telephone conversations that allegedly the voices of the detainee K. and dignitaries related to the conflict in the East of Ukraine.

The participants in the intercepted negotiations, as the records mention the names of the Director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov and his deputies Andrei Burlaka and Sergei Smirnov, the Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov and the leaders of the DND Alexander Zakharchenko, Alexander Boroday and others.

The Ukrainian media, citing the SBU, write that an important part of the records in the possession of the SBU, are the conversations with K. major General GRU Sergey Dubinskiy (call “Gloomy”) and Leonid Kharchenko (call “Mole”) – both declared in the international search on the case of wreck of the plane, flying flight MH17. According to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, other extraordinary representative of Russian special services supervised network of agents, members of which committed acts of terrorism and sabotage on the territory controlled by Kiev.

In addition, the staff of SBU detained on July 7 in Kiev two “Russian mercenaries” who worked for the secret services of the Russian Federation.

The press service of the National police of Ukraine in his Facebook said that they were planning serious crimes.

Investigators received information that arrived in the capital of Ukraine citizens of Russia were members of the armed forces, worked for the Russian secret service, and participated in military conflicts on the territory of different countries, for which he was awarded state awards.

Investigators found the car, which moved the suspects and likely their location, and then detained. In the near future detainees would be forcibly expelled from Ukraine.
