KIEV. August 10. UNN. In July, the volume of foreign currency deposits of Ukrainians increased by almost 2%. This is according to “Monetary statistics”, Bank for July 2018, reports UNN.

“In July revived the inflow of funds of natural persons in foreign currency — increase for the month was 1.9% to 8.6 billion dollars”, — stated in the message.

At the same time, remnants of national currency funds in solvent banks in July decreased by 3.1% to nearly UAH 254.7 bn, which mainly had a seasonal character.

“The decline in household deposits in the national currency occurred mainly in demand Deposit accounts, including card, after their significant rise in June. This fact along with the growth of funds on demand of corporations can testify to the active implementation of population consumer spending,” — said the NBU.

In General, according to the regulator, the volume of deposits at the end of last month rose 0.2% to 485,6 billion.

At the same time, most actively in the last month banks have attracted funds business. Balances on corporate accounts increased by 3.6% to 395,7 billion. In particular, balances of national currency business accounts in solvent banks by 6.3% up to about 260 billion UAH. At the same time, deposits of enterprises in foreign currency decreased by 3.3% to $ 5 billion.

Overall, in July, banks actively attracted funds the volume of the Deposit portfolio in the national currency increased by 1.5% to 515,4 billion.

Interest rates on hryvnia credits for business and the public have not changed.

Given the significant surplus liquidity of the banking system, a substantial inflow of funds in previous periods and seasonal reduction in balances of deposits, cost of deposits in July has not changed and remained at the level of 10.7% per annum in UAH and 2.3% per annum in foreign currency. Increased competition between banks for corporate customers led to a slight increase of the yield of hryvnia deposits of businesses — by 0.4 percentage points to 12% per annum.

We will remind, in the second quarter, the Ukrainians put on deposits of 17.2 billion.
