In the us state of Alabama have observed a mysterious phenomenon. Jamie Smith and her daughter near the city of Asheville County of St. Clair has captured an unusual cloud which, according to users of social networks, it was connected to another cloud smaller “tubes” that form a kind of “crown”. The video and photos drew the attention of the famous weatherman James center. He turned to his followers and specialists in Facebook and Twitter, to help understand what it is and its nature.
But that’s not good enough. Of the many reviews of the most popular was the version about aliens and UFOs, another was reminded of the jellyfish in the stratosphere, someone suggested that the trail in the sky left by time travelers. Repeatedly people wrote that the “crown” above the cloud – a sign from heaven about the coronavirus.
More serious users believed that it could be the effects caused by a temperature inversion, ice crystals, a halo, and even planes flying in formation, according to Stormnews.
So this was captured yesterday over St Clair County Alabama. (Real video; no editing). Much debate within the local weather community about what we are seeing here; what are your thoughts, #wxtwitter ??? pic.twitter.com/klD7fzGQKD— James Spann (@spann) August 10, 2020
Later James center on his page on Facebook wrote that he still has no clear answer to explain this phenomenon, but there are three versions.
1. Flash crown (Crown flash) is a very rare and poorly known natural phenomenon, it is also known as the “leaping sun” as moved and rebuilt in a matter of seconds. It can be like a bright spot, a pillar of light or the spotlight. It is assumed that it is caused by the fact that the sunlight is reflected or refracted through tiny ice crystals, the position of which depends on the electromagnetic field over the top of a cumulonimbus cloud. The phenomenon was first scientifically described in the journal Monthly Weather Review in 1885.

2. Sprite on uncharacteristic for this phenomenon of low altitude, the daytime version of the sprites.
Sprites large – scale electrical discharges that occur high atmosphere at altitudes of 50-90 km above large thunderstorm systems. They usually coincide with a strong positive charge from cloud to earth. Have large, but weak flares, usually red. Sprites only exist for a few seconds. They are difficult to see with the naked eye, and they are only visible in the night above the distant strong thunderstorms are noted on the website of the world meteorological organization (WMO).

3. The cloud-cap (pileus) – his weird version. WMO describes this phenomenon as an additional cloud of small horizontal extent, having a shape of a cap or hood located above the top or around the top of cuseviagrao clouds, it is often chilly. Sometimes there are several hats on top of one another. Typically, the cap is observed in Cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds.
