The Ministry of health of Ukraine estimated that more than 2 thousand Ukrainians were killed this year in road accidents due to too low level of safety on the roads.

Deputy Director General of the public health Center of Ministry of health of Ukraine Vladislav Zbanatskiy reported that for 9 months of 2018 in Ukraine there were more than 108 thousand accidents, which killed 2 thousand 266 persons.
“In Ukraine, the mortality and injury in road accidents are among the highest in Europe. Monitoring of international organizations showed that the level of organization of road traffic safety in Ukraine is quite low,” – said Banacki.

In order to change the situation with road deaths, the Ministry has proposed to raise the level of quality requirements for the selection of drivers. First and foremost, the changes will affect the medical examinations.
Also there will be a special adaptation of legal acts of the national legislation with the European standards.
In particular, among the European standards will be the revision of the standards of psychophysical testing and standards of physical and mental fitness of drivers, whereby you can determine how safe it would be driving.
