After a short speech of Leonsis, in which he thanked trump for his hospitality and expressed hope that “capitals” for the second year in a row to become Champions of the NHL, the President offered Ovechkin to say a few words.
“We are honored to be here. We will try again to achieve this, winning the Stanley Cup. We have the same, but already experienced team. Try to repeat,” said Ovechkin.
Then trump once again shook hands with Ovechkin, after which the captain “capitals” and the U.S. leader exchanged a few words. Before leaving, the hockey players “Washington” presented to the head of the state hockey sweater of the club and also Golden stick decorated with a dedicatory inscription.
