KIEV. June 12. UNN. Since the beginning of the annexation of Crimea, human rights activists have recorded 55 cases of torture against the inhabitants of the Peninsula. This was announced at a press conference the coordinator of the “Crime” Tamil tasheva, reports UNN with reference to the message on “Radio Liberty”.

She said that the annexation of Crimea by Russia Ukrainian human rights organizations have documented 181 case of inhuman treatment of the inhabitants of the Peninsula, of which 55 cases of torture.

Tasheva noted that the first cases of inhumane treatment of people was recorded in March 2014 and associated “with the Russian special operation on capture of the Crimea.”

Head of Department of Prosecutor’s office of Crimea Maxim Kandziora said that the Crimean Prosecutor’s office initiated criminal cases on all facts of torture and inhuman treatment of persons in the temporarily occupied territory.

He said that currently was around 140 criminal proceedings.

Recall President of Ukraine instructed Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova to take the necessary steps to get the opportunity to visit political prisoners in the Crimea.
