Google and Facebook receive 84% of the money spent on digital advertising in the world (excluding China) in 2017. This is stated in the report of the Agency of GroupM, owned by WPP advertising group, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the forecast of the Agency, in 2018, the global spending on advertising will grow by 4.3%, or $23 billion, the growth will mainly provide digital segment.

It is expected that the cost of television advertising will increase next year by 2.2%, digital advertising – by 11.3%. The volume of spending on advertising in digital media will surpass spending on TV commercials in 2017 in 17 countries, including the UK and Germany, writes the Financial Times.

Meanwhile, in recent years more and more major companies are expressing dissatisfaction at the insufficient monitoring of digital content, which is displayed next to their ads. So, Diageo, Mars, HP, Deutsche Bank and Mondelez refused to cooperate with YouTube, owned by Google, after their ads were shown next to videos with obscene content.
