Georgia decriminalized the use of marijuana
Uncategorized December 1, 2017KIEV. 30 Nov. UNN. Georgia’s constitutional court today upheld the claim of the party “Garci”, eliminating criminal penalties for marijuana use, reports UNN citing Georgia Online.
According to the court, the use of hemp and marijuana will no longer be considered a criminal offense and does not fall under article “illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage in small volumes for personal use or consumption is illegal without a doctor’s prescription drugs, their analogues or precursors”, as it is not in conformity with article 16 of the Constitution of Georgia, according to which “everyone has the right to free development of his personality”.
“The establishment of criminal punishment with the purpose to not harm their health, represents a form of state paternalism that is incompatible with a free society,” reads the court’s decision.
