The North Atlantic Council adopted the decision on appointment of the General of the U.S. air force Todd J. Walters to the position of Supreme commander of the allies in Europe, according to the NATO website.
It is noted that Walters will begin to perform the duties of the commander-in-chief of the United armed forces of NATO in Europe after completion of the relevant procedures and will replace on this post of General Curtis Scaparrotti.
The ceremony of change of command will take place in Mons (Belgium) in the spring of 2019.
