At the Royal University of Ontario showed intermediate results of work on creation of system of video conferencing the future TeleHuman 2. It is based on the technology of creating three-dimensional holograms of the interlocutors – and in real time. The developers say that in order to use their offspring don’t need a virtual or augmented reality.

TeleHuman 2 uses a set of cameras, able to record not only the brightness of the individual light fluxes, but also their direction. This creates a depth effect, which you can then play with a set of “intelligent projectors” on a special screen cylinder. So it turns out the three dimensional and not flat picture, which is equally well visible from different angles.

At the current level of image detail and viewing angle is poor, although the communication system works well. The sides can move, to communicate, to convey non-verbal signals, to use the language of the body, etc, which thought the technology – three-dimensional holograms need to create the effect of human presence where it is not physically, but there is a need for his direct participation.

The scope of the new: almost everything about working with people. Holographic boss may appear at the meeting in other parts of the world and to chastise subordinates artist to make virtual concerts in a dozen nursing homes at the same time, the dog will see your favorite host and will calm down, stop gnawing the sofa with boredom. The technology is from 2012 and finishing will take another few years, but this is our real future.
