KIEV. August 16. UNN. The court of appeal of Zaporozhye region detained the truck driver, who is suspected of committing a fatal accident, which killed six people. About it reported in a press-service of the court, reports UNN.
“The appeal court of Zaporizhia region informs that today, on August 16, 2018, a panel of judges from the trial chamber for consideration of criminal cases in open court session in a videoconference mode considered the appeal of the defender Elena Usova, which acts in the interests of the citizen S. in criminal proceedings the decision of the investigating judge of Ordzhonikidze district court of Zaporozhye of August 11, 2018, to whom the petition of the investigator for election of a measure of restraint in the form of detention against the suspect S is satisfied, applied the measure of restraint in form of detention for a period of 60 days before 08.10.2018 year without determining the amount of bail”, – stated in the message.
Thus, on appeal the court made the ruling that the appeal lawyer Elena Usova dismissed and the ruling of the investigating judge of Ordzhonikidze district court of Zaporozhye – unchanged.
“The decision of the court of appeal in a cassation order is not subject to and shall enter into force from the moment of its announcement,” – said the press service.
We will remind, the driver of “KAMAZ” is suspected of committing a crime under part 3 St. 286 criminal code of Ukraine (Violation of rules of traffic safety or transport operation by the person driving the vehicle, entailed death of several persons).
As reported UNN, the collision of the truck “KAMAZ” with the van occurred on the highway “Kharkiv-Sevastopol” in the Zaporozhye region on August 10. Killing six people, including five children. Another 12 people were injured. Subsequently, the court took custody of the truck driver suspected in committing the accident.
