President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is losing its confidence that it can stay in power.
This was stated by former Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Igor Likhov, reports Диалог.UA.
According to the diplomat, Belarus began to manifest crisis of government, and the government is unable to control the situation. Lukashenko himself should be aware of the fact that the situation is radically different from how it was before, when he could be sure of the inviolability of his power.
Likhov believes that Belarusians can force Lukashenko to resign, because the country has already formed a generation of people who think in other categories, more close to European.
“Belarusians in their mentality – Europeans. However, they are not as easy to climb as Ukrainians, but the majority of the citizens of Belarus want to change life in their country. And they went out with the purpose of at least to declare the position”, – said the diplomat.
Also Likhov adds: protests in Belarus can benefit from the Kremlin, and it already represents a danger for the neighbouring States.
“Russia will not release Belarus from his embrace. In addition, we see that in this protest movement of its temporary leaders are no longer in control. Yes, the Belarusians with his European mentality want to live according to European laws. But in protest, I don’t see movement “behind”, I see only a protest against the country’s President. It’s a little alarming. I would like to see a “road map” several steps ahead”, – said Igor Likhov.
Earlier, the Ukrainian diplomat and former Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Ohryzko stated that now at stake is not Lukashenko and Belarus and the Belarusian people.
Earlier, Russian political analyst Stanislav Belkovsky said: “squeezing” the opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovski from Belarus was a mistake of the authorities and became the “extra fuel” for the protests.
