Three Russian citizens captured last week during the pirate attack on cargo ship “Marmolite” near the Cameroonian port of Douala, presumably, delivered to the territory of Nigeria, reports TASS, citing the Russian Embassy in yaoundé.
“The prisoners are, presumably, delivered to the territory of Nigeria. Formed the emergency response team, which is negotiating the ransom of seafarers”, – told the Agency at the Embassy.
“At the moment, managed to arrange delivery for them clothing and medicines,” added the diplomat.
Information on the amount requested by the pirates ransom the Embassy of the Russian Federation does not have. “While negotiations about a ransom, the specific requirements of the kidnappers is unknown,” – said the diplomat.
We will remind, on August 15 in the port area of Douala is unknown, presumably, Nigerian pirates attacked the cargo ship “of Marmarita”, coming under the flag of Antigua and Barbuda. As reported in the foreign Ministry, the attackers seized eight crew members, including three citizens of Russia.
A search of the kidnapped Russians were engaged in the Navy of Cameroon and Coordination centre for combating piracy in the Gulf of Guinea.
