The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark in our country Ruben Madsen signed a Framework agreement between the governments of the countries on conditions and procedures for the implementation of the programme Danida Business Finance (DBF) in Ukraine.

As reported on the website of the Ministry of Finance, the program provides interest-free loans to Finance projects in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency, water and wastewater treatment.

“The signing of the agreement – the result of long, painstaking work of both parties. Cooperation with Danish partners will allow us to effectively raise funds for the implementation of new projects aimed at sustainable development and economic growth. Such a move definitely expands the horizons of investment opportunities for Ukraine”, – said Markarova.

Ambassador Madsen, in turn, said: “I am delighted that the programme Danida Business Finance is now available in Ukraine. This is a very advantageous system of preferential crediting which is offered exclusively for the Danish priority countries, such as Ukraine, and will be an important component of the existing wide programme support that Denmark is implementing in Ukraine”.

It is noted that the financing will occur through the provision of commercial Bank or financial institution with representation in Denmark, loans to the government of Ukraine or the Ukrainian economic entities under state guarantees. The loans are interest-free with maturity up to 10 years in Euro or US dollars.

Reference to UNIAN. According to the Finance Ministry, Ukraine this year expects to receive from external sources of about $ 4 billion of financing, including world Bank, European Union, bilateral loans to other countries, access to foreign capital markets.

This year our country to pay foreign creditors on account of debt repayment and debt servicing of about 179 billion UAH, or 6.1 billion at the official rate of the National Bank.
