Defense Ministry will increase the number of troops in the Odessa region

The Ministry of defence of Ukraine is studying the possibility of expanding the number of troops in the South of Odessa region. On this day, June 23, during his working trip to the Odessa garrison said the Minister of defense of Ukraine General of army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, reports the press service of the Ministry.

“The previous military and political leadership made decisions in which we have practically no military units in the region. Our plan is to increase this group, to create the infrastructure and the necessary logistics,” – said Poltorak.

He added that today there is a military unit in Bolgrad, formed military units in Sarata will be a military office in Sochi.

“Where the army is, there is the development of the region. But above all, a guarantee of security and territorial integrity of our country”, – said the Minister.

21 June 2017, the defense Ministry announced about the end of conscription of reserve officers.
