After tournaments in Vinnytsia and Sumy decided the participants of the “Final four” of the Cup of Ukraine.
Long time volleyball Odessa is not pleased the fans with successful performances on the national scene. At the dawn of independence of our country, their team “Dorozhnik-SKA” three times in a row became the champion of the country twice – silver and bronze medalist, was the winner of the Cup of Ukraine.
But all these achievements are, alas, still to the end of the last century, since then, suffered financial shipwreck, the flagship of the Odessa men’s volleyball, figuratively speaking, lost in the waters of the Black sea.
And then, finally, there are all preconditions to that under a new flag “Polytechnic” came the revival of the favourite games in South Palmyra. Yet this team, led a team to develop a well-known coach Eugene, Borodaenko, is the second rank of the highest League of the championship of the country.
But in Cup battles already managed to make a mess, and having successfully overcome the barriers of the four stages of the tournament. And, leaving out of the game a number of clubs of the elite division, the same with the second passage in the seat group made it to the Final four.

In the reporting round of the Cup of Odessa gave a loud surprise in the opening match against bronze winner of the previous championship of Ukraine Khmelnitsky “Innovator”. Moreover, conceding after two tense parties 0:2 and in the third 23:24, when rivals had matchball, wards, Borodaenko at this critical moment showed admirable fighting qualities.

The next day Odessa in the match with the current champion and the current leader of the season “Barkamol-Kazani” I decided not to tempt fate and to save his strength for the final match for the second final position in the group against another club of the main echelon and the host of the tournament shvsm-SSU, who in three games beat the same “Innovator”.
This can explain the fact that the inhabitants of Odessa during a meeting with Lviv residents, providing an opportunity to rest their leading players, in any of the losing games not even close to the 20-point mark, much conceded all the points-generating elements. In each of the three parties Odessa-Sumy confrontation a bitter struggle lasted from the first to the last draw. But in the Vinnytsia group no special surprises did not happen, because trips to the Final four here went to two local clubs, now holding a tournament roster of elite tier second and third positions. If, however, you don’t count the fact that another representative of the second echelon “Itici” finished third, ahead of superlogo “Favorite” and beating him in four games.
In their “cabal” of Zhytomyr city scored Yaroslav Zaika (20), Vladimir Mirchev, Roman Volkov (11) and Artem Omelchenko (10); the lubentsi – Bogdan Onipko (21), Artem Piven (13) and Nicholas frost (10).
The wards of coach “Itici” Sergei Ternovskogo, among other things, at the start of the tour gave battle in “Pyatikhatki” sponsored coach “the Heart of Podillia” Valery Kopylov. Snatching the ending of the first set and losing the next two, Zhytomyr in the lottery “more-less” of the fourth set tipped the scales to their side. However, on the fifth, cropped tie-break forces have not sufficed. The winners effectively operated Vladimir Sidorenko (19), Alexander Tereshchuk (14) and Stanislav Lizanets (12); defeated Eugene Zhorov (27), Mirchev (21) and wolves (17).

“Sitecam” also managed to win launch party “Vinnitsa”. However, in the three subsequent sets their conditions dictate the hosts, whose strike was moved from Kharkiv “Yurakademiya” Viktor Shapoval (18), Denis Danilov (12), Vitalii Kucher (11), ex-binder “Sarcoma-Kazani” Vladislav Didenko and George klapka (10).
The biggest interest was, of course, caused on the final day of the tour “Vinnitsa Derby” fellow-favorites. And even though both teams are already ahead of schedule received a pass in the Final four. This traditionally steep opposition to “the Heart of Podillia” was able to win only a third party.
And in other, incredibly fighting, sports happiness was on the party of wards of the trainer “Vinnitsa” Vasif Talibov, who took the upper hand in the endings with the minimum standards for volleyball in two points. Such was their superiority in the gaming glasses – 97:95 (attack – 59:43, presentation – 7:8, block – 8:13, the opponent’s mistakes – 23:31). As you can see, the winners are very significantly exceeded the counterpart in attack and, thereby, offset the negative results in other points of the elements. The performance has noted: “Vinnitsa” – Shapoval (24), Klepko (13), Danilov and Dmitry Sukhinin (11); “the Heart of Podillia” – Sidorenko (20) and Andrey Gorbenko (11).

So, skip to the “Final four” received a leading three clubs of a Superleague – “the Bark-Kazany”, “Vinnitsa” and “the Heart of Podillia”, and the command of the second echelon “Polytechnic-Odessa”. Games of this crucial stage to be held on February 16-17. But it is not known in which they held the city and who will meet in 1/2 finals that will determine the draw.
