Today in Kyiv district court of Kharkiv continues the hearing on the case of a fatal accident in Sumy with the participation of Elena Zaitseva and Gennady Dronova.

The hearing began with the petition for interrogation of the investigator in the case, which said the defender Gennady Dronova Sergey Perepelitsa, according to “ATN”.

The petition counsel for the accused explained that the investigator Igor Volkov has not provided assessors with the documents showing the presence of opiates in biological materials delivered Zaitseva for analysis, and also demanded to take blood from Zaitseva is required for this urine test. The lawyer believes that actions Volkov has led to the inability to obtain answers to questions that arose during the trial.

The prosecution, victims and defence Zaitseva the application is not supported, arguing that the tightening process.

According to lawyers of victims, the fact of official negligence of the investigator may be addressed in separate criminal proceedings.

In the petition the defender Dronova, the court refused and continued the meeting.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on 8 October 2017 in Kharkov at the intersection of streets Sumy and lane Mechnikov clash “Lexus” 20-year-old Elena Zaitseva, who was moving at red lights with exceeding the speed limit, and the car “Volkswagen Touareg”, at the wheel which was a 49-year-old Gennady drones. After the collision, the Lexus took off on the sidewalk and knocked down 11 pedestrians. It killed five people, one more person died from injuries in hospital.

The court took custody of Dronova and Zaitseva at the time of the investigation. The first tests showed the presence in the body Zaitseva opiates.
