Archaeologists of the University of Washington has discovered the oldest artifacts associated with tattoos. It is reported by Naked science, Recalling article in the journal of Archaeological Science: Reports.
A small tool was made about two thousand years ago, the Anasazi Indian culture. It consists of almost devyatimillimetrovy wooden handle, made of the branches of the Bush Rhus trilobata connected at the end of the divided leaves of Yucca with two parallel spines of a cactus, painted in black on their tips.

The find was discovered remnants of the tattoo pigments, which helped it to recognize the tool for applying the tattoo.
Before the earliest finds tattoo machines dated between 1100 and 1280 ad.
