KIEV. June 22. UNN. Militiamen detained in Cherkasy criminal group, raise funds from businessmen for the passage of oversized load across the bridge over the Dnieper. This was reported by the press service of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, reports UNN.
“With the assistance of the staff of the security Department of PJSC ”Ukrzaliznytsia“ administration of protection of economy of the National police of Ukraine in the Cherkassk area detained the criminal group that took money from businessmen for the passage of oversized load across the bridge over the Dnieper,” — said in the message.
As it turned out, the criminal group included employees of the production unit “Znamensky detachment of paramilitary guard” service of the militarized protection of the regional branch “Odesa railway”, which since September of 2017 took with entrepreneurs from UAH 150 to UAH 450 for travel of oversized cargo across the bridge, which is located on the outskirts of the city of Cherkassy.
On this fact initiated criminal proceedings under part 3 St. 368 Criminal code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or obtaining illegal benefit by the official). Its sanction provides punishment in the form of imprisonment for the term from 5 till 10 years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to 3 years with confiscation of property.
