A gang in Odessa did for extortion of money for “fake” support in the courts

KIEV. 7 Dec. UNN. The security service of Ukraine “covered” in Odessa, a gang that specialized in extortion of money from the participants of the trials. About this UNN reports quoting the press center of the SBU.

“The activities of an organized group that specialized in extorting money from litigants, particularly criminal proceedings, blocked in Odessa SBU” – said in the secret service.

The group, according to the SBU, were four residents of the regional center. “Through the personal connection they were looking for citizens whose cases were pending in the courts. For various sums of money, the attackers offered them the assistance of the alleged positive decision of questions in the judiciary, in particular concerning the avoidance of administrative or criminal liability. While the actual impact on the adoption of relevant court decisions the group was not”, – added in SBU.

Money for “services” citizens had to transfer to a Bank card. All contacts with its customers, the attackers carried out remotely by telephone or using Internet services.

The operatives of intelligence agencies documented ten episodes of illegal activities of the group.

During the searches at the place of residence of the defendants in the Odessa and Zaporozhye region law enforcement authorities found more than 100 SIM-cards, credit and debit Bank cards, terminals, mobile phones, computing equipment with evidence of illegal actions.

We will remind, employees of the SBU demanded from men 110 thousand dollars.
