A criminal case against the mayor of Odessa was closed
KIEV. March 6. UNN. National anti-corruption Bureau under the repeal of article on illicit enrichment, closed the criminal case on the fact of illegal enrichment of the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov. About this UNN reports quoting the press service of NABOO.
“Contrary to moral convictions, pursuant to the decision of the constitutional Court, which effectively legalized illicit enrichment in Ukraine, the detectives NAB began to close the criminal proceedings under article 368-2 of the criminal code. Among the already closed cases on the facts of illegal enrichment of officials and judges, as well as the mayor of Odessa”, – stated in the message.

Odessa mayor is accused in misappropriation of 185 million UAH of the city budget. The case against him is heard in the Malinovsky district court of Odessa.
“The decision of the COP declared unconstitutional. 368-2 for this trial is not relevant, because the official is accused of corruption crime in another article – part 5 article 191 of the criminal code of Ukraine. NABU detectives also continue to investigate other possible facts of illegal activity of the head of the Odessa city hall,” added the Bureau.
In General, the COP decision makes the detectives to close 65 criminal proceedings, but only in terms of illicit enrichment. At the same time, other facts of corruption activity within these industries, qualified for articles not cancelled, the COP will be investigated further.
Recall, the National Agency today deprived of the opportunity to identify signs of illicit enrichment in the framework launched in this year, 500 full audits of declarations of persons authorized to perform state functions.
