MFA: the desecration of the monument of Bulgarian volunteers in Odessa – a deliberate provocation

KIEV. 28 Feb. UNN. The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the unfortunate act of vandalism against the monument of Bulgarian volunteers, established in the city of Bolgrad of Odessa region. This is stated in the official commentary of the foreign Ministry, reports UNN.

“We consider such actions a deliberate provocation aimed at creating tension and undermining the friendly Ukrainian-Bulgarian relations,” the commentary said.

The foreign Ministry also reported that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies will investigate with the aim of bringing those responsible to justice.

We will remind, in Bolgrad , unidentified persons desecrated a monument to the Bulgarian militia, and wrote on the wall “suitcase station Sofia”. The vandalism was discovered this morning members of the city Council and immediately called the police.

Vandalism law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 297 of the criminal code. Now the search is conducted intruders.

In Bolgrad city Council said that in the coming days, the utility will clean the monument from paint.

And on March 3 in Bolgrad will be held festive events on the occasion of the 139th anniversary of the end of the victorious Russian-Turkish war of 1877-78, which was the decisive factor in the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman Empire.
